USDA-Funded Efforts to Address Adverse Childhood Experiences in Yolo County
When kids experience trauma early in life, the effects can last a lifetime — leading to chronic health issues, mental health struggles and barriers to success. UC Davis research, led by Professor Leigh Ann Simmons, is tackling Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) head-on. With support from USDA, they’re connecting families to resource that build resilience, strengthen communities and change lives.

Without continued funding, vital programs could be lost, leaving vulnerable families without access to life-changing support. Sustained investment is essential to ensuring brighter futures for children in Yolo County and beyond.
