Selective major requirements
Students who apply for transfer admission to selective majors are required to complete major preparation courses and meet additional course and GPA requirements.
Courses
Students need to take all courses for a letter grade with no grade less than C and complete all major preparatory course requirements by the end of spring term prior to their fall enrollment. Pass/No Pass does not fulfill selective major requirements unless taken during the Covid terms of winter, spring and summer 2020. The Department Agreements as published on ASSIST are also important documents. Reference them in conjunction with the major agreements as needed.
Transfer students are encouraged to complete as many major preparation courses listed under other major requirements prior to transfer as shown on the ASSIST website. Students must complete all admission requirements by the end of spring term before they transfer. Any summer coursework completed prior to transferring will not count toward admission requirements.
GPA requirements
UC Davis requires a minimum 2.80 GPA for admission. Selective majors require higher overall, series and group GPAs.
Transfer Admission Guarantee, or TAG, requires various GPAs for admission to the different colleges. Check each page for the specific GPA requirement.
Use the list below to review the requirements for your college and major. Strive to achieve the highest GPA.
