UC Davis offers an array of gifts for everyone on your holiday list, from gourmets to Aggie grandpas. For a couple of ideas, listen to our interviews with students Dan Langholff and Allison Ramiller, who work as clerks in the campus bookstore (where, by the way, the Holiday Extravaganza is set for Dec. 1).

And check out the UC Davis Facebook page for the “Gift Idea of the Day,” starting the day after Thanksgiving.

Among the daily gift ideas: the UC Davis Olive Center's new collection of olive oil-based body care products. See separate story.

You also may wish to consider California Harvest Gift Boxes, featuring an assortment of gourmet food items, all from California, many from local producers with UC Davis connections.

The gift boxes are an annual treat from the women's rowing team — which is no longer an NCAA sport at UC Davis, but which lives on as a sport club.

Coach Carissa Adams said the rowers are more enthusiastic than ever about the holiday sale. “They know that in order for their program to survive they will need successful fundraisers,” she said.

This year's harvest comprises chocolate, sun-dried tomatoes, black olives, garlic, honey, almonds, dried fruit, organic raisins and organic popcorn — all packed in decorative wooden boxes.

The price is $36, for boxes that you pick up in Davis. Or, for the same price, you can have the boxes delivered in Davis or Sacramento. The boxes can be mailed at additional cost.

The sale begins Nov. 22. For an order form, contact Adams, (530) 867-1494 or cradams@ucdavis.edu.
