A two-day symposium exploring the many applications of wireless networks and sensors in agriculture will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, June 20 and 21, at the University of California, Davis. The program, intended for farm advisers, crop production professionals and researchers, will examine the use of wireless technologies in soil monitoring, irrigation management, livestock tracking, soil mapping, and satellite and air monitoring of agriculture. Speakers will include university researchers, agricultural industry scientists and a representative from the California Department of Food and Agriculture. The symposium will be held at the University Club from 1:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday. All symposium participants are also invited to attend the annual meeting of the Precision Agriculture Workgroup from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
