* Oct. 10-12, Wednesday to Friday -- On the 10th anniversary of the devastating East Bay Hills fire, UC Davis University Extension will co-sponsor a conference in Oakland on preventing similar fires at the urban-wildland interface. "California's 2001 Wildfire Conference and Public Events" will share the latest research on minimizing losses in California's urban-wildland interface.
