The annual Whole Earth Festival at UC Davis -- now in its 26th year -- will be celebrated May 12-14 on campus. Reminiscent of the '60s, the three-day public festival features arts and crafts, informational booths, food, educational workshops and various eclectic musical groups. The event sprang from an "art happening" organized by art history students as a final exam project in 1969. It has since grown into a popular event that draws an estimated 30,000 people. Centered on the campus Quad, the festival begins at noon on Friday and ends at 6 p.m. on Sunday.
