Volunteer opportunity with children

Want to help an abused, neglected, or abandoned child in Yolo County? If so, then becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) may be the perfect volunteer opportunity for you. Every year, thousands of children in the United States become victims of abuse or neglect, but as a CASA volunteer you can make a difference.

Yolo County CASA is a non-profit organization dedicated to advocating for abused, neglected, and abandoned children, and we need your help! CASA volunteers are a stable influence in the life of a child lost in the overburdened foster care and Court system. CASA mentors and role models spend three too five hours per week with their child, for a period of at least 18 months. As highly trained advocates, CASA volunteers support the child's best interest in court through their reports to judges, attorneys, and others as the voice of the child.

"As a volunteer, you know you play a part in making a child's life better." Said CASA volunteer Jack Jackson, "You can tell by the sincere smiles and expressions of gratitude that you have helped a child through a difficult time."

To find out more about how you can make a significant difference in the life of a child as a Yolo County CASA, attend one of our upcoming information sessions. Besides information, our sessions feature snacks, games, prizes, and a raffle. Call (530) 661-4200 or email volunteer@yolocasa.org to RSVP for a session. Winter training begins Oct. 24
