Vaughan Williams’ Dona nobis pacem (“Grant us peace” in Latin) is not strictly a holiday work, but it fits in well with the holiday theme at the Mondavi Center.
The University Chorus program for 8 p.m. Dec. 4 in Jackson Hall includes the Williams piece, and works by Bairstow, Finzi and Parry.

• Cantus — This nine-man chorus and three actors from Theater Latté Da perform All Is Calm: The Christmas Truce of 1914, a selection of songs, poetry, letters and journal excerpts relating to the extraordinary time in World War I when troops came together to celebrate Christmas, after first trading carols across the front line. 7 p.m. Dec. 6, Jackson Hall. • Home for the Holidays — The Sacramento Choral Society and Orchestra present this family program. 2 and 8 p.m. Dec. 12, Jackson Hall.
• American Bach Soloists — UC Davis Choral Director Jeffrey Thomas leads this early music ensemble in its presentation of Handel’s Messiah. 7:30 p.m. Dec. 19, Jackson Hall.
• Chanticleer — The all-male chorus presents “A Chanticleer Christmas,” traditional carols, medieval and Renaissance sacred works, and new holiday gems. 5 p.m. Dec. 20, Jackson Hall.
