The campus will award an estimated 7,335 degrees for 2005-06 as it completes the academic year with 12 commencements through June 18.
The School of Medicine will award a total of 93 doctor of medicine and 14 Master of Public Health degrees at its commencement at 10 a.m. Saturday in Mondavi Center.
The School of Education holds its event at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Mondavi Center. It will recognize the recipients of 29 doctoral degrees and 95 master's degrees as well as 119 students who have completed studies for teaching credentials. The numbers for doctoral and master's degrees are included in totals for Graduate Studies.
Graduate Studies will award about 312 doctorates and 560 master's degrees at its ceremony at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the ARC Pavilion.
The College of Biological Sciences will recognize recipients of some 980 bachelor of science, 30 bachelor of arts, and five bachelor of arts and science degrees at a ceremony at 10 a.m. next Friday in the ARC Pavilion. These numbers are included among those degrees awarded by the College of Letters and Science and by the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences.
Also next Friday, the College of Engineering will confer about 570 B.S. degrees in a 3 p.m. ceremony in the ARC Pavilion.
The School of Veterinary Medicine will hold its graduation ceremony at 7:30 p.m. next Friday in the ARC Pavilion. It will award 124 doctor of veterinary medicine degrees, 15 master of preventive veterinary medicine degrees, seven B.S. degrees and 36 certificates recognizing completion of residency.
The College of Letters and Science will award about 2,700 B.A., 900 B.S., and 95 B.A.S. degrees — for a total of 3,695 degrees this year. Its two programs will be held at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on June 17 in the ARC Pavilion.
The commencement of the Graduate School of Management will be held at 10 a.m. June 17 in Freeborn Hall. This year, the school will award master of business administration degrees to 59 candidates from its full-time program and 77 from its Working Professionals program. In addition, seven students successfully completed the Business Development Certificate Program.
The College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences will award a total of about 1,600 B.S. degrees at its 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. ceremonies June 18 in the ARC Pavilion.
At a ceremony May 20, the law school awarded 11 master of laws degrees and 188 juris doctor degrees.
The campus will offer live and on-demand webcasts of each of the commencements held in the ARC Pavilion. Closer to graduation time, a link will be posted on the campus's home page at www.ucdavis.edu. Archived ceremonies will be available at commencement.ucdavis.edu.
Numbers of degrees include those earned since last spring's commencement season, including those awarded at two December commencements, and estimates of those to be awarded at ceremonies this year.
The Office of Resource Management and Planning estimates the number of degrees to be awarded by the undergraduate colleges; Graduate Studies and the five professional schools estimate the number of degrees they will award. An audit of the actual number of degrees awarded is prepared later.
In 2004-05, the university awarded 7,399 degrees including 5,735 bachelor's, 873 master's, 389 doctoral and 402 professional degrees.
