UC's Doby Talks About African Americans in Higher Ed

Nov. 9, Tuesday -- Winston Doby, vice president for educational outreach for the University of California, will participate in a panel discussion at UC Davis about the lack of African American and African students, especially males, in higher education. Also on the panel will be Carl Mack, former superintendent of the Del Paso Heights School District in north Sacramento; Angela Onwuachi-Willig, a UC Davis law professor; and Riche Richardson, a UC Davis English professor specializing in African American literature, cultural studies and gender studies. The discussion, which is open to the public, is sponsored by the Cross-Cultural Center at UC Davis. It will be held 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in the East Conference Room of the Memorial Union.
