Flores: Education Abroad

Yvette Flores will begin her new job as the director of the Quarter Abroad Program in the Education Abroad Center on Feb. 1. A professor of Chicana/o studies, Flores will facilitate the development of curricular offerings involving educational abroad experiences. She earned her doctorate degree in clinical psychology from UC Berkeley in 1982 and has worked as a research psychologist, university professor and licensed psychologist.

Ford: Undergraduate Studies

Gary Ford, associate dean and professor of electrical and computer engineering, started work as the associate vice provost for Undergraduate Studies on Jan. 1. His new duties involve the management of undergraduate curricula, advising services and student development. As a professor, Ford studies teaching and research in image processing, pattern recognition and communications signal processing.

Roddy leaves CAAA

Charlie Roddy resigned as executive director of the Cal Aggie Alumni Association, effective Jan. 11. In his seven months at the helm of UC Davis' alumni organization, Roddy accomplished a number of objectives, including establishing a place for alumni gatherings near the stadium, organizing pre-game festivities for alumni at home football games, and coordinating activities to engage alumni throughout the state. Roddy plans to return to his home in New England and work in development at the University of Massachusetts.

In the interim, Janice Corbett, the acting director of marketing and communications for CAAA, will assume the role as lead for the association and the office of alumni relations.
