Hull: Human Resources

Karen Hull has been apppointed interim associate vice chancellor of Human Resources, effective July 1. Hull, who is currently the associate vice chancellor of Business Services, will replace Dennis Shimek, who is retiring.

Hull's interim appointment will be through June 30, 2008. The university will conduct a national search and recruit a permanent associate vice chancellor. She has worked 17 years on campus.

Bossio: Enrollment

Lora Jo Bossio, the university's current director of financial aid, has been named interim assistant vice chancellor for student affairs and enrollment services. She replaces Leon Washington, who recently took a new position as dean of admissions and financial aid at Lehigh University.

Bossio begins her new assignment immediately and will serve until a permanent replacement has been identified through a search process. She has worked 18 years on campus.

De la Peña: Humanities

Carolyn de la Peña, an associate professor in American Studies, has been chosen as the new director of the Davis Humanities Institute. De la Peña, whose research focuses on science, technology and food studies issues, takes on her new role as the center expands its role in research and graduate education in the division.
