The logo you see here, created by Rosa Li of Finance, Operations and Administration, is for this year’s Thank Goodness for Staff celebration, coming in May.
Staff Assembly, which organizes the annual TGFS, starts planning for each year’s logo a year ahead of time — so Li’s design won the logo contest a year ago.
Now, Staff Assembly is seeking the logo for the 2024 TGFS, with entries due by 5 p.m. April 28. See the rules below.
The 2023 logo
Li, a UC Davis alumna, 2019, said the logo emerged from a fun idea she had about a cow enjoying a picnic on a sunny summer day.
As a student, double-majoring in design and Japanese, she was an intern with the communications team in Finance, Operations and Administration, and, after some time away post-graduation, found her way back to the same unit, where she is employed as a multimedia designer, providing primary support for the Human Resources and finance and business portfolios.
Staff Assembly will use the logo on signs and banners, collectible buttons and any other promotional materials, as well as T-shirts for TGFS volunteers.
2024 logo contest
Here are the rules:
- The contest is open to all UC Davis staff.
- Only original art is eligible. All logos must be digitally drawn or digitally produced art originals, submitted in EPS, JPEG, PDF or Vector format.
