With a victory Nov. 25 in its final game of the season and last ever at Toomey Field, the Aggie football team (6-5) extended its streak of consecutive winning seasons to 37 — the longest active streak in NCAA Divisions I and II. In the 37-27 win over previously unbeaten University of San Diego, the Aggies' Marcus Nolan (No. 24) rushed for a career-high 167 yards, receiver Tony Kays caught 10 passes for 151 yards and quarterback Jon Grant threw for 348 yards and three touchdowns. More than 6,500 people attended the game at Toomey, where, since 1949, Aggie football teams compiled a record of 192-86-8. Two days earlier on Thanksgiving the team got a holiday treat when they held their first practice at the university's new multiuse stadium on the southwest corner of Hutchison Drive and La Rue Road. The yet unnamed stadium, which will also serve as the home for the women's lacrosse team, will host its first football game next fall.
