People placed orders at the Starbucks counter soon after the company’s first fully licensed store on campus opened Feb. 23. Located inside the main lobby at the Activities and Recreation Center, the new coffee house offers a complete beverage menu during the hours of 7 a.m. until midnight Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. University officials say that the ARC is an ideal place for the new coffee spot—during the 2007-08 fiscal year, the ARC registered more than 1.1 million visits for fitness, recreation and health activities, and another 1.2 million visits for training sessions, workshops, commencements and other meetings. “We are excited to have this full service Starbucks store become a part of the ARC patron experience,” said Matt Fucile, associate director of operations for the Department of Campus Recreation.
