Speaker Series Tackles Hot Topics in Farm Law, Policy

Sept. 19 to 23 -- Farm law and policy will be explored during a weeklong speaker series at the UC Davis School of Law. Panels will discuss using a public works model instead of a regulatory approach to turn dairy waste into energy on Monday; First Amendment challenges to marketing orders for commodities on Tuesday; agroterrorism and emerging pathogens on Wednesday; county initiatives banning genetically engineered organisms on Thursday; and wine and the Internet on Friday. The series is being organized by the Agricultural Law Society at the school. All but one of the discussions will take place at noon in King Hall's Moot Court Room; Tuesday's event will be held at noon in Room 2011 of King Hall.
