Second-year student Steven Lee holds the Principles of One Community after campus and city leaders signed the document at a March 4 ceremony in Freeborn Hall. All were among the signatories of the document that Lee initiated on behalf of the ASUCD and guided through seven months of consultation with fellow students and other campus and city leaders. It does not replace the campus's own Principles of Community or the city's Statement on Principles of Community Tolerance. Instead, the new document acknowledges the campus and city's shared history, and the need for respectful dialogue across boundaries.
