SEMINARS AND COLLOQUIA: ‘Green Acres, Blue Skies II’

The early registration deadline is today (May 15) for “Green Acres, Blue Skies II,” a UC Davis conference aimed at advancing agricultural systems and technology that protect air quality.

The conference, scheduled for June 1 and 2 at the Activities and Recreation Center, is being coordinated by the Air Quality Research Center and Agricultural Air Quality Center, in collaboration with agricultural, research and regulatory leaders.

“We hope that by sharing perspectives, new scientific research findings, the latest in new technologies and practices, and progressive policy insights, we can all work toward the development of an agricultural system that provides an abundance of food and fiber while safeguarding the health of our global and regional environment,” said Frank Mitloehner, an associate professor and Cooperative Extension specialist, and director of the Agricultural Air Quality Center.

The program includes an overview of agricultural air quality issues, tours to ag operations, and concurrent sessions focused such topics as energy, engines, animal and plant production, climate change, particulate and gas emissions and mitigation, and economic and health implications.
