Sale to Feature More Than 1,000 Different Plants

* Oct. 6, Saturday -- With wheelbarrows and wagons, hundreds of backyard gardeners will queue up for the 27th annual Plant Faire at the UC Davis Arboretum. The event features more than 1,000 different plants that have been grown in Davis and are adapted to Central Valley conditions. Included will be a wide selection of California native plants, plus ornamental grasses, trees, shrubs, shade plants, bedding perennials, bulbs, vines and herbs. Expert gardeners are on hand to provide information about the plants, which are grown by volunteer members of the Friends of the Davis Arboretum. The sale runs from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Arboretum Headquarters, located on La Rue Road near the south entrance to campus.
