Sacramento Career Night

Sacramento Career Night is designed to showcase community resources for job-seekers and provide professional guidance on every aspect of landing a job from using social media for networking to writing an effective resume.

“Gain the skills, resources and confidence you need to land a job, even in a down economy,” reads a news release.

The event is free and takes place form 5 to 8 p.m. Oct. 29 at the Central Library Tsakopoulos Library Galleria, 828 I Street, Sacramento. Organizers note that parking is available for $5 in the garage attached to the library; enter on J street, they suggest.

A panel discussion, titled “Growing your Skills,” will include Carolyn Penny of UC Davis Extension, Constance Stevens, a Davis career counselor who has served clients on campus, and a yet-to-be-named speaker from the Los Rios Community College District. Other presenters for the evening’s activities include human resource professionals, employment agents, career counselors and recruitment consultants.
Sacramento Career Night is presented by UC Davis Extension, The Sacramento Bee and the Sacramento Public Library.
