RECREATION: Rec Pool opens April 17

The Outdoors: At the arboretum and Stebbins Cold Canyon

Rec Pool opening day

We're not sure about the sun, but the Rec Pool is ready for business — with opening day set for Sunday, April 17.

Weather Underground's extended forecast calls for a partly cloudy sky on Sunday. But let's turn that around to partly sunny — after all, the forecast also calls for a high temperature anywhere from 70 to 79.

Rec Pool admission is free for students and Activities and Recreation Center members, and $4.50 for the others (or $4 for ages 3 to 17). Hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and noon to 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

The Rec Pool, at the corner of Hutchison Drive and La Rue Road, features two lap lanes and two diving boards, showers, and a large grass area for sunbathing. In addition, the facility is available for birthday parties and other gatherings.

More information is available by telephone, (530) 752-2695, or e-mail, aquatics@campusrecreation.ucdavis.edu.
