Quick Summary
- Crowdfund UC Davis is held each year in October and February
- Each project team is responsible for their own marketing and fundraising
- This month’s cohort comprises 39 projects
This February Crowdfund UC Davis is excited to have 39 crowdfunding projects driven by students, faculty, and staff that are ready to make a real impact on our campus and beyond. The three below represent repeat projects and those new to the program.
3 Wishes: meaningful wishes during a tough time
MORE PROJECTS
A new project this cohort is the 3 Wishes Project. It is a palliative care initiative designed to honor and individualize the end-of-life experience for Intensive Care Unit, or ICU, patients, their families, and caregivers by fulfilling small, but meaningful, wishes. With donor support they aim to expand this impactful, nurse-driven program to all adult ICUs, fostering positive memories and a healing environment during challenging times.
Engineers Without Borders: a focus on clean water
Engineers Without Borders, a student-run organization dedicated to providing sustainable infrastructure for developing communities, returns with a focus on South America. This year they are raising money to build clean water infrastructure in Saparcon Bajo, Peru, and community latrines in Parque Colani, Bolivia, both of which aim to improve access to safe water and sanitation. Gifts support these impactful projects while offering students hands-on experience in designing and implementing solutions that promote healthier lifestyles and long-term community well-being.
Davis Racing Dragons: training with a 2-person canoe
A new project making a splash this February is Davis Racing Dragons, or DRD. DRD is a dragon boat team focused on fostering a welcoming community, teamwork, and competitive excellence. Donations will support the purchase of a two-person outrigger canoe, or OC2, to enhance paddlers’ training technique, strength, and efficiency through individualized coaching. Supporting DRD will also help train future generations of athletes and enable them to compete at the highest levels.
About Crowdfund UC Davis
Crowdfund UC Davis cohorts take place in October and February each year. Since the program debuted in February 2020, it has raised more than $2.7 million from more than 13,500 gifts and 11,000 donors. The Annual and Special Gifts Program, or ASGP, in cooperation with Advancement Services, reviews all crowdfund applications to ensure project teams have all the administrative pieces in place to fundraise. The ASGP provides the Crowdfund UC Davis platform, accessible experts, and the training needed for the project teams to succeed. But it’s up to project teams to fuel the marketing and networking that leads to fundraising success. The application period for the October 2025 cohort opens April 1.
