Public's Help Needed on Fix I-5 Research Project

If you are employed, and you live or work in the western part of the greater Sacramento region, then UC Davis researchers studying the Interstate 5 closures in downtown Sacramento want to hear from you -- even if the closures have not affected you.

At Gov. Schwarzenegger's request, the researchers are studying regional commuters' responses to the Caltrans Fix I-5 construction project.

They have prepared an online survey to obtain feedback. The survey should take most people less than 15 minutes to complete.

"Public feedback can help us learn how to improve transportation options in Sacramento and how to minimize the impacts of future projects like this one," said the study's lead researcher, engineering professor Patricia Mokhtarian.

Mokhtarian said it would be most helpful if people could complete the survey before the next I-5 closures begin on Friday (June 13) at 8 p.m.
