The Department of Theatre and Dance and the Department of Music, appropriately enough, put on shows for Picnic Day (April 18):

• Main Stage Dance-Theatre Festival — Six new choreographies by students Jess Curtis, Tyler Eash, Hillary Feineman-Klausner, Kelly Fleischmann, Nina Galin and Lucas Macdonald. 1 and 3 p.m. (special one-hour matinees), Main Theatre. • Symphony Orchestra — Selections from Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, with John Abdallah, violin; Beethoven’s Septet in E-Flat Major; and Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! Noon-1 p.m., Jackson Hall, Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. Conductor: David Moschler, who is completing his master’s degree program in music with an emphasis in conducting. (The Oklahoma! selections in this Picnic Day program are a preview of what you can hear May 2-10 when the departments of Theatre and Dance, and Music present a full-scale production of the classic musical.)

• Chamber Music I — Works by C.P.E. Bach, Herzogenberg and Schubert. 2-3 p.m., 115 Music Building.

• Chamber Music II — Beethoven’s Septet in E-Flat Major, op. 20. 4-5 p.m., 115 Music Building.
