The California Bicycle Museum's inaugural exhibition shows how far bicycles have come, from the Draisienne pictured here to Eric Heiden's time trial racer from the 1986 Tour de France. Recent visitors to the Davis museum included Emily Blake, a Davis resident and UC Davis alumna, and Drew Tombleson of Woodland. The exhibition is open from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays and 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesdays, at least through November, in the basement of the Third and B Street Building; admission is free. The city of Davis and UC Davis are partners in the museum. Its opening coincides with the U.S. Bicycling Hall of Fame's induction ceremony taking place Nov. 2 in Freeborn Hall.
