Anti-war activist and former Vacaville resident Cindy Sheehan gave a speech before 500 people at Freeborn Hall on Nov. 21. She said congressional members' recent calls for troop withdrawals from Iraq demonstrate how public opinion is turning against the war. "Young people are the ones who die in old men's wars," said Sheehan, who made global headlines last summer when she camped out near President's Bush's ranch in Texas. Left, masked protesters hold up a sign, "Al Qaeda Approved" near Sheehan before security chased them away. Sheehan later called them "cowards" for covering their faces.
