Tour -- Improve Your Container Gardening. 11 a.m. Dec. 1, Arboretum Terrace Garden, Davis Commons shopping center, First Street and Russell Boulevard. Free parking behind the center.

Walk With Warren -- Led by Warren Roberts, arboretum superintendent. Noon Dec. 12, gazebo, off Garrod Drive. Parking $6 in Lot 55.

AT COLD CANYON

Guided hike -- Winter Solstice: The Leap from Winter to Spring. Traversing the canyon on the shortest day of the year. 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Dec. 22. Participants may want to go on a comparison hike in the spring (date to be announced).

Guided hike -- 9 a.m.-noon Dec. 8. Animal tracking, via footprints, scat and other signs. Meet in the day-use parking lot at Lake Solano Regional Park.
