Valentine’s Day Sonnet Walk—A performance of Shakespeare’s poetry, presented by the Department of Theatre and Dance in collaboration with the arboretum and the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. For all ages. Advance reservations required, through the Mondavi Center box office. Feb. 14. Guided strolls depart at 10 a.m. and every 15 minutes thereafter, until the last stroll departs at noon.

Workshop—Native Californian Elderberry Flute-Making, with docent Antonio Flores of the East Bay Regional Park District. This program is open to all ages; adults are asked to accompany and supervise their young children. Instruction in making and playing flutes, plus a talk about the culture of flute-making and about the endangered elderberry beetle. All materials will be supplied; participants are asked to bring sharpened pocketknives. 1-3 p.m. Feb. 22, 146 Environmental Horticulture, Old Davis Road.
