THE OUTDOORS: At the arboretum

An arboretum tour set for Aug. 1 asks the question: "Are you tired of mowing the lawn?"

If so, you might want to think of plant options beyond grass. You are invited to learn more on this free tour, scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. at the gazebo, off Garrod Drive at the west end of the arboretum.

Organizers said tour participants also will learn that "lawn replacement is easier than you think."
