Pianist Seda Röder, the Empyrean Ensemble, the Symphony Orchestra — three concerts, three nights in a row, today through Sunday (Nov. 16-18), presented by the Department of Music.

Seda Röder — On her visit to UC Davis this week, the pianist-composer has already given a lecture and presented a free noon concert. Tonight (Nov. 16), she performs in concert in the Vanderhoef Studio Theatre at the Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts.

“Tales from the Silent Lands," tonight's program, features works by John Cage and Morton Feldman, late-1900s composers known for experimenting with length, instrumentation, electronics and improvisation; and by Röder, Lei Liang and Ken Ueno, each of them influenced and inspired by Cage’s works.
