MUSIC: Jazz, Concert and University bands, Early Music and Baroque ensembles — and 400 voices for Te Deum

More than 400 voices from the University Chorus and Alumni Chorus and three children's choirs will come together on the Jackson Hall stage to perform Berlioz’s Te Deum in one of four concerts due in March from the Department of Music.

The others feature the Jazz Bands, the Concert and University bands, and the Early Music and Baroque ensembles.

Wednesday, March 2 — Jazz Bands: Selected Standards. 7 p.m., Vanderhoef Studio Theatre, Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. $12 adults, $8 students and children.

Sunday, March 6 — University Chorus with the Alumni Chorus, and the University of the Pacific Symphony Orchestra. The program comprises Berlioz’s Roman Carnival Overture and Roussel’s Suite No. 2 to Bacchus and Ariadne, both conducted by Nicolas Waldvogel, director of the UOP orchestra; and Te Deum, led by Professor Jeffrey Thomas, director of choral music at UC Davis. Joining the University Chorus and Alumni Chorus on Te Deum will be the Davis Children’s Chorale, the Sacramento Children’s Chorus and the Pacific Boychoir. 7 p.m., Jackson Hall, Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts. $12/$15/$17 adults, $8 students and children.

Wednesday, March 9 — Concert and University Bands: Celebrating Physical Sciences and Engineering. 7 p.m., Jackson Hall. $12 general admission, $8 students and children.

Saturday, March 12 — Early Music and Baroque ensembles. 7 p.m., St. Martin’s Episcopal Church, 640 Hawthorne Lane, Davis. Suggested donations at the door: $12 adults, $6 students and children.
