The C.N. Gorman Museum announced a fall quarter exhibition by Native American photographer Lee Marmon.

Titled Lee Marmon: Master Photographer, the exhibit will feature works from throughout his career. He started in 1947, photographing elders and members of his community in Laguna Pueblo, N.M.

Over the past 50 years, Marmon's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally.

His diverse portfolio includes work for Columbia Pictures, as official photographer for the Bob Hope Desert Classic golf tournament for eight years, on a commission for the White House in 1972, and most recently photographing for the American Indian College Fund.

The exhibition is set to run from Oct. 2 to Dec. 5. Marmon is scheduled to deliver a lecture during a reception at the museum at 6 p.m. Nov. 6; the event is free and open to the public.

For more than three years, we have watched the Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science take shape at the campus's south entry. Allen Lowry, senior project manager for Architects and Engineers, did more than watch: He took photographs -- and he is exhibiting some of them from Oct. 2 through Dec. 18 at the Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center.

The exhibition's opening comes eight days before the RMI's official grand opening.

The Nelson Gallery is coordinating the Buehler exhibition titled Underwalls: Photographs by Allen Lowry. The photographer said he put emphasis on architectural details that subsequently became hidden as the construction progressed.

The Craft Center Gallery announced that it will showcase Crafts From the Farm, in conjunction with the UC Davis Centennial. The exhibition is set to run from Sept. 29 to Oct. 31. A closing reception with the artists is scheduled from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Oct. 31, free and open to the public.
