In her Nov. 1 concert at the Mondavi Center, Grammy Award-winning singer Cassandra Wilson plans to perform jazz standards from her new album, <i>Loverly</i>.

HOMELAND -- Performance artist Laurie Anderson is bringing her Homeland Tour to the Mondavi Center.

The Mondavi Center describes Homeland as "a tour de force of spoken word, music and technology." Homeland comprises stories and songs "marked by a political urgency, addressing America's obsessions with security and information, the current climate of fear versus freedom, the increasing acceptance of violence and the persistent new language of war." 8 p.m., Jackson Hall, Mondavi Center.

MOMIX -- "The uncannily athletic dancers" of MOMIX are returning to the Mondavi Center. The program for this visit is titled "The Best of MOMIX," highlighting the company's 25-year history. 3 p.m. Oct. 26, Jackson Hall. School matinee, 11 a.m. Oct. 27.

MOMIX combines acrobatics, choreography, multimedia imagery and more to create a poetic and lyrical style of theater that is never short on dazzling visual effects. The company performed Lunar Sea for a sell-out audience in Jackson Hall in October 2006. "The Best of MOMIX" includes "Moon Beams," an excerpt from Lunar Sea.

JERUSALEM SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA -- Leon Botstein, music director, with Robert McDuffie, violin. Erich Walter Sternberg: The Twelve Tribes of Israel, Leonard Bernstein: Serenade for Solo Violin, Strings, Harp and Percussion (after Plato's Symposium) and Aaron Copland: Symphony No. 3. 8 p.m. Oct. 27, Jackson Hall (ticket availability limited). Preperformance lecture by Phil Kass, a UC Davis professor and Davis High School music program volunteer, 7 p.m., AGR Room, Buehler Alumni and Visitors Center. LINDA RONSTADT AND MARIACHI LOS CAMPEROS DE NATI CANO -- "Canciones de Mi Padre" (Songs of My Father). 8 p.m. Oct. 30, Jackson Hall (ticket availability limited).

CASSANDRA WILSON -- Grammy Award-winning singer (album New Moon Daughter, best jazz vocal performance, 1997). The program for her Mondavi Center performance includes jazz standards from her new album, Loverly. 8 p.m. Nov. 1, Jackson Hall.
