August 27-30, Thursday through Sunday – Approximately 450 scientists, students and other participants from more than 60 countries will gather for the 16th annual International Plant Nutrition Colloquium, to be held at the Sacramento Convention Center in Sacramento, Calif. The meeting, hosted by the UC Davis Department of Plant Sciences and College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, will focus on “Plant Nutrition for Sustainable Development and Global Health.” Speakers will highlight advances in fundamental and applied plant nutrition, and emphasize the role of plant nutrition in food systems and environmental sustainability. A special banquet honoring the lifelong contributions of Emanuel Epstein, a UC Davis plant physiologist and professor emeritus, to the field of plant nutrition will be held during the conference on Aug. 28 at the Sacramento Railway Museum.
