Media Calendar: Event Highlights Students' Career Search

Dec. 3, Monday -- Approximately 360 first-year UC Davis students will present posters from 4:10 p.m. to 6 p.m. as the culmination of the Career Discovery Seminar Series. The series, which gives incoming freshmen an opportunity to explore careers, learn strategies for selecting a major and gain lifelong skills in successful career development, is sponsored by the campus Internship and Career Center, and the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. Topics include ecology, environment, animal sciences, wildlife, fashion, social sciences and leadership. The event is free and open to the public. As part of the seminar series, the students explore careers and then create informative posters. During the upcoming poster session, students will explain their choice of careers. The public will vote on their favorite posters, with the top two vote-getters each receiving a $100 gift certificate.
