April 30-May 3, Thursday through Sunday -- Cattle producers and industry representatives from throughout the nation will gather in Sacramento for the Beef Improvement Federation’s Annual Research Symposium and Meeting. Speakers, including animal scientists from UC Davis, will focus on key genetic technology developments that affect the beef industry. Tours on April 30 and May 3 will visit Sacramento Valley and coastal beef operations. The event, to be held at the Sheraton Grand Hotel, is co-sponsored by the UC Davis Department of Animal Science and College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, along with industry organizations. The Beef Improvement Federation, formed more than 40 years ago to improve and standardize beef cattle performance, represents more than 40 state and national beef cattle associations.
