July 21-23, Tuesday through Thursday -- Approximately 100 researchers, regulators and livestock industry representatives from throughout the United States and abroad will gather at UC Davis to discuss the environmental, public health and economic issues related to the disposal of animal tissue and byproducts, especially in the event of an animal-disease epidemic or weather-related hazard. Symposium topics will include disposal of farm animal, wildlife and marine carcasses for various scenarios; public policy; response and training for government agencies; and new and emerging technologies.
