Darrell Steinberg was among two state Assembly members to recognize the substantial impact UC Davis has on the region during a press conference held March 5 in Sacramento. Other speakers included Assemblywoman Lois Wolk. Steinberg, who was recently named Budget Committee Chairman for the lower house, said that, with higher education a key issue in this year's state budget, the study -- showing $2.7 billion-plus dollars generated by UC Davis -- should help higher education advocates make their budget cases.
