The UC Davis General Library and bookstore announced an authors event April 29 to celebrate the recent publication of more than 100 books by faculty members and academic appointees.

All of the books will be on display from 4 to 6 p.m. in the lobby of Shields Library, said Debbie Ojakangas, executive assistant in library administration. Thirteen of the authors will speak during a program starting at 4:15, and a reception will follow. The event is free and open to the public.

"This is an opportunity to hear colleagues from various disciplines speak about their current research, writing and publication experiences," organizers said.

The program also lists remarks by Chancellor Larry Vanderhoef, Academic Senate Vice Chair Pablo Ortiz and University Librarian Marilyn Sharrow.
