UC Davis Centennial Blend Olive Oil: Bottle with excelsior straw as packing, and a box with a red ribbon

The Olive Center is offering a "last-minute holiday shopping solution": bottles of UC Davis Centennial Blend Olive Oil, each packed in excelsior straw in a box with a red ribbon.

UC Davis Centennial Blend Olive Oil "proudly commemorates the 100-year partnership between UC Davis and California's olive growers and processors."

The extra-virgin oil is a blend of UC Davis Olive Oil with super-premium olive oil donated by California Olive Ranch, Saltonstall Estate, Corto Olive, Dry Creek Olive Company, McEvoy Ranch, The Olive Press and Pasolivo.

Two of California's most notable olive oil experts, Paul Vossen and Alexandra Devarenne, crafted the centennial blend. It is described as a complex oil that offers tropical, floral and buttery flavors punctuated with notes of grass, mint and cinnamon.

"A drizzle of UC Davis Centennial Blend Olive Oil will enhance salads, soups, pastas, grilled vegetables, and crusty bread," according to promotional material.

Olive Center officials said proceeds from the sale of the UC Davis Centennial Blend Olive Oil will help support the Olive Center and continue the partnership between UC Davis and the olive industry into the university's next century.

UC Davis Centennial Blend Olive Oil, in 500-milliliter bottles, each in a box with a ribbon, are available at the Davis and Sacramento campus bookstores. The price is $29.
