La Raza es Politica — Workshop assessing the effects of budget cuts, programming cuts and rising student fees on the Chicana/o-Latina/o community. 3-5 p.m., 7 Wellman Hall.

Labor Disputes in the United States — Professor Xico Gonzalez discusses farmworker struggles in the 20th century and the unions created to fight unjust working conditions. 5-7 p.m., 126 Wellman Hall.

Noche de Estrellas — A celebration of Chicana/o-Latina/o talents, with performances by UC Davis students and other people from around the region. 7-10 p.m., Freeborn Hall.

APRIL 29

Uncovering Immigrant Struggles — SPEAK and friends present Selena’s Dream, a play that takes a comedic approach to the college struggles of an undocumented student. Also, UC Davis poets and an art exhibit. 5-7 p.m., King Lounge, MU.

Queer Latinidad: Confrontando Nuestro Dolor y Reclamando Nuestros Espacios en la Comunidad — About the intersections within the Chicana/o-Latina/o and queer communities. Performances and light refreshments. 7-11 p.m., Activities and Recreation Center Ballroom.

Navigating the University — Education management workshop. 1-3 p.m., 114 South Hall.

Cuauhtémoc Run — 5-kilometer event that aims to raise awareness about health issues in the Chicana/o community. 8-10 a.m., ARC.

La Gran Tardeada — With a Children’s Fair, Health Fair and Science Fair; immigration workshops; college information; food; and much more, including performances by Danzantes del Alma, Rocio y Su Sonora, Banda La Unica de San Jose, Azhares, Banda del M.O.B., Boleros Románticos, Danza Azteca, First Strings and La Descarga!, as well as performers from the surrounding area. 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Quad. Free parking.
