Immigrants to Tell Their Angel Island Stories

Feb. 18, Saturday -- The public is invited to hear participants of the Angel Island Oral History Project talk about the island's legacy at an event hosted by the UC Davis Pacific Regional Humanities Center and the Angel Island Immigration Station Foundation. Since the fall of 2004, UC Davis students have been gathering experiences, recollections and impressions of immigrants who came through the station from 1910 to 1940. On Saturday, interviewees and interviewers from the project will be present to discuss recording the immigrants' firsthand experiences and the impact of these narratives on future generations. The 1:30 p.m. free public event will take place at the Chinese Historical Society of America, 965 Clay St., San Francisco.
