The mission is the same: connecting students, staff and faculty with volunteer opportunities in the community. But the name is new: the Community Service Resource Center, formerly the Human Corps Community Service Office.

The name change better reflects the office’s services, according to a news release. The center remains part of the Internship and Career Center.

The center maintains a database as a free service, listing volunteer opportunities with some 500 nonprofit organizations. In addition, the center keeps in e-mail contact with more than 5,000 students, sending weekly messages about local community service opportunities.

The Community Service Resource Center is in the same place as the old Human Corps, 225 South Hall, and the telephone number is also the same: (530) 752-3813. The e-mail and Website addresses are new:
communityservice@ucdavis.edu and
iccweb.ucdavis.edu/cs.
