That is quite a piece of carpet these workers are stretching at the university's new multiuse stadium. The carpet is Sportexe turf, the same brand installed in UC Berkeley's Memorial Stadium and in other stadiums around the country. UC Davis' new stadium, being built at a cost of nearly $30 million, is scheduled to open in the spring for the women's lacrosse team. The Aggie football team will start playing in the stadium next fall. In the interim, people are invited to tour the new stadium prior to every home football game; three more games remain: Nov. 4, 18 and 25. Tours start at 10 a.m. in the Schaal Aquatics Center parking lot (enter off Garrod Drive, off La Rue Road).
