AT THE GAME IN A NEW STADIUM

The first football game in the new Aggie Stadium was held Sept. 1 with 9,960 spectators in the stands as Western Washington upset UC Davis, 28-21. (The Aggies won last week against Portland State, 26-17.) At the home opener, temperatures exceeded 100 degrees, 85 people were seen for heat-related problems, and eight of them were transported to area hospitals — none in serious condition, according to Assistant Fire Chief Wes Arvin. For information about the stadium, including rules on picnicking and parking, see http://www.ucdavis.edu/spotlight/0807/stadium.html.
