Whether you ride a bike, take public transit or drive, once you get to the Folsom History Museum on Dec. 3, you will get in free if you are show your UC Davis employee or student identification, the university's bicycle program coordinator announced.
The attraction is an exhibit titled "Cycling Through History: Bikes, Trails and People," and it includes several antique bikes from the university's Pierce Miller Collection. The museum at 823 Sutter St. is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. Each employee and student going to the museum on Dec. 3 can get free admission not only for himself or herself, but for up to three immediate family members, said David Takemoto-Weerts, bicycle program coordinator for Transportation and Parking Services.
If you plan to ride a bike to the museum on Dec. 3, consider joining the UC Davis Institute for Transportation Engineers. The group plans departures from Davis and Sacramento, and lunch will be provided, Takemoto-Weerts said. He added that light rail and bus connections will be available for the return trip, if desired.
