* May 1, Thursday -- Linda Oubre, former president and chief operating officer of BriteSmile Inc. of Walnut Creek, will discuss "Leadership in New Ventures" during a UC Davis event in Sacramento. In more than two decades of business experience, Oubre has been involved in more than 30 new ventures. Most recently, she was responsible for the planning, launch and management of BriteSmile's one-hour teeth-whitening spas and affiliated dental offices. During her tenure, from 1998 to 2002, the company's annual sales grew to more than $50 million.
