Winkler Dinner

A dinner of six courses, each from a different chef and paired with a different wine. This must be the annual Winkler Dinner, presented by the student organization
DEVO, which stands for Davis Enology and Viticulture Organization.

The dinner, now in its ninth year and heretofore held under the campus’s historic
Winkler Vine, is taking place this year at the new Robert Mondavi Institute for Wine and Food Science. The date is May 16, with dinner at 5 p.m. and silent and live auctions after dinner.

Tickets are $175 per person, or $1,200 for a table for eight. To arrange reservations, contact Dan Person, (707) 536-8451 or dmperson@ucdavis.

Order on the Web

The Gunrock Pub announced it is now taking orders via the Web, for takeout service. “Place your order, walk to the Silo and have it waiting for you when you arrive,” the pub’s advertising declares. “It’s that easy!”

The service is for individuals, as well as for departmental lunch meetings and catered lunches for last-minute visitors. The pub advises people to order at least 15 minutes before pickup.

The Web address is gunrockpub.ucdavis.edu (click on “Order Now,” then on “Begin ordering now”). This brings up the menu, and then you simply click on what you want.

Pub hours: 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays (11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in summer); closed university holidays.
