Juergensmeyer is a professor of sociology and religious studies at UC Santa Barbara. Karen Roth, diversity coordinator, says Juergensmeyer "inspired his audience to explore 'satyagraha,' which means interrogating the truth in both our own and our opponent's position when conflicts arise. This principle can be applied to every conflict ranging from international to personal disputes," Roth says. Book project programs themed around Gandhi's Way continue through Dec. 4.
