The northwest corner of the campus will be a training site next week for the UC Davis Fire Department and other Yolo County emergency agencies. The exercises will revolve around a bus crash, using an old Unitrans bus as a prop.

The bus has been tipped on its side at the old Orchard Park apartment complex at Russell Boulevard and Highway 113. The apartments are empty and fenced off, due to be torn down this summer to make way for a new apartment complex for students and families.

The training exercises are scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday, May 1, 2 and 5, and will involve firetrucks, ambulances and a helicopter.
